IT Process Automation (ITPA) enables process maturity and operational readiness,
for an automated dynamic infrastructure,
for VMware, DR, ITIL/ITSM, Provisioning, Change Mgmt, CMDB, IT Security

Get educated on what has been called the "key to solving a history of inefficiencies in IT (infrastructure & ops)"
-   What are "IT processes"?
-   What are the best practices for automating disparate "IT processes"?
-   What is an architectural approach to managing end to end IT processes across multiple silos, sites, and physical & virtual servers?

Agenda

  1. Introduction:    by Simon Maxwell, MD, Information Gateways

  2. Why is IT process automation important, and why plan now?
by Gartner Research Director, Steve Bittinger (Sydney and Melbourne)
by Information Gateways & VMware (Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra)

  3. IT process automation across a homogenous VMware environment
by Andre Kemp, Subject Matter Expert and Senior Product Manager APAC, VMware

  4. IT process automation across a hetrogeneous enterprise environment
by Todd MacDonald, CTO, Information Gateways, and Simon Maxwell

Synopsis

Most agree virtualisation reduces datacenter costs and improves SLA's.  This workshop will explain:
-   why virtualisation cost reductions and SLA improvements are short lived without automation and management
-   why CMDB(s) are only sustainable with concurrent deployment of automation software
-   why v3 of ITIL/ITSM requires software to automate all defined processes
-   why Provisioning, DR, Consolidation, Change Mgmt, and IT Security are significantly enhanced with automation
-   how to go from virtualisation and from multi-silo sprawling...to an automated dynamic infrastructure
-   how to eliminate manual IT processes and scripting, and achieve interoperability and automation

The workshop covers many areas of ITPA, also known as Run Book Automation (RBA), and will demonstrate two complementary ITPA tools: VMware LCM and market leader Opalis

About the speakers:

You will benefit from the vast experience of these 4 speakers:

Steve Bittinger, Research Director Gartner, has worked in IT for over 30 years and has extensive IT infrastructure, IT operations, and IT process & business process management experience. More about Steve: http://www.ig.com.au/SteveBittinger.htm

Andre Kemp, VMware, is a subject matter expert on virtualization and has worked with VMware for 4 years (the first VMware employee in Australia), and has also specialized in complex ERP systems (SAP) for 13 years.

Simon Maxwell, MD, Information Gateways,  has worked with IT ops workflow languages and complex job scheduling systems  in large scale mission critical systems for over 20 years, and ITPA/RBA for over 10 years including advising Australia’s largest ITPA/RBA user.

Todd MacDonald, CTO, Information Gateways, has worked with complex data and file automation, workflow, and processing for over 20 years, and the IT security industry in USA and Australia for 20 years with USA Fed Reserve Bank, and security vendors Checkpoint, and Tumbleweed.

Who should attend:

Organisations using or intending to deploy virtualisation, ITIL best practices, or a CMDB
Organisations using any of the following:  VMware, IBM Tivoli, HP Openview, EMC Smarts/Voyence/Networker, BMC, CA, Microsoft Systems Center products, MS Active Directory, Symantec, Cisco, NetApp, Sun, Oracle, Citrix, and SIM/SEM products
Roles and Positions:  CTO/CSO, IT Infrastructure Mgr and Architects, Virtualisation Specialist or Architects, IT Security Mgr or Architects, e-Commerce Mgr or Architects, Network Mgr, Storage Mgr, IT Ops Mgr, and IT Consultants

Why Attend:

TPA is poised to be the single most substantial contribution to IT infrastructure and IT operations management in recent history. By implementing ITPA tools within IT infrastructure, investment in process maturity is returned and continuously reported.

Dashboards feeding senior management decisions can reach a state of near real-time reporting as IT processes are measured by other automated process, and inefficiencies are reported and escalated in a timely way.

Dependencies on manual processes and scripting are eliminated.

PRICE:  Your organization may attend free.  Each attendee will also receive a 20 page white paper printed by Gartner
